Louisville Sports Commission Golden Ticket Raffle Sales Resume

One Lucky Sports Fan to Win Ultimate Sports Package

Louisville, Ky. – May 20, 2020 – After pausing ticket sales in accordance with Governor Andy Beshear’s temporary directive to suspend all charitable gaming initiatives, the Louisville Sports Commission (LSC) is once again selling its Golden Ticket raffle.

The raffle provides one lucky person two tickets to nearly every major sporting event on the local calendar – including the Kentucky Oaks and Derby, and every home game for UofL or UK football and basketball, winner’s choice – with proceeds from the ticket purchase funding the Sports Commission’s youth sports initiatives. If any of the events should be cancelled or postponed, the winner will receive tickets for the event on the postponed date or the next season.

Louisville Selected to Host 2021 USA Volleyball Open National Championship

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 14, 2020) – USA Volleyball is proud to announce that Louisville, Kentucky, will host the 2021 USA Volleyball Open National Championship.

The 2021 USA Volleyball Open National Championship will be held May 28 to June 2 at the Kentucky Exposition Center. Louisville last hosted the USA Volleyball Open National Championship in 2013.

“We are excited to bring back the Open National Championship to Louisville in 2021,” USA Volleyball Director of Events Kristy Cox said. “Louisville was an excellent host city for the 2013 Open Nationals. Louisville has an oasis of activities and sites to visit, and the Kentucky Exposition Center will help provide many lasting memories on the courts.”

ACE Esports Championship Postponed Until Fall 2020

Event Organizers to Hold ACE Online Competition April 18-19

Louisville, Ky. – March 18, 2020 – The Louisville Sports Commission (LSC) and AllMid, organizers of the inaugural ACE Esports Championship scheduled to take place April 18 – 19 on the University of Louisville (UofL) campus, today announced the event has been postponed until Oct. 3-4, 2020.

“We are postponing the inaugural ACE Esports Championship due to the public health concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Karl F. Schmitt, Jr., LSC president and CEO. “We appreciate the support of our hosting partners at UofL and Jefferson County Public Schools to set a firm date in October for the ACE Esports Championship.”

AllMid, Louisville Sports Commission Announce Inaugural Esports Event

Louisville, KY – January 22, 2020 – AllMid, an esports event producer, and the Louisville Sports Commission (LSC) have partnered to create the inaugural ACE Esports Championship that will take place April 18 – 19 on the University of Louisville campus. ACE is the first-of-its-kind, student-focused esports event ever held in the region where both collegiate and high school players will face off at a live esports competition.

Applications Now Being Accepted for 2020 Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame

Louisville, Ky. – January 8, 2020 – The Louisville Sports Commission is accepting nominations for the Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame fueled by the Kentucky Lottery (KSHOF) through March 13, 2020. Eligibility and selection criteria and the nomination form can be accessed online at KySportsHOF.com.

Nominations received by March 13 that meet the Selection Criteria will be placed in a pool with previous submissions for consideration for the KSHOF Class of 2020.
