Michigan Women, Wisconsin Men Dominate Strong Fields to Win Featured Races
Louisville, Ky. – Oct. 2, 2021 – A total of six college cross country races, including men’s and women’s pre-nationals races for the 2021 NCAA Division III National Championship, were contested during the 20th annual Live in Lou Cross Country Classic at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park (Sawyer). More than 2,800 runners representing 140 colleges and universities competed Saturday morning and early afternoon under ideal weather and course conditions in front of more than 5,000 spectators.

Louisville, Ky. – Sept. 11, 2021 – With nearly 600 registered participants, the annual Louisville Pure Tap™ 5K went off this morning under perfect running conditions at race start. The race was back for its 10th year, after being cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Race participants started and finished at the Louisville Water Tower Park, home of Louisville’s award-winning drinking water, and followed a course that ran east and west on River Road.

Louisville, Ky. — July 29, 2021 — The Louisville Sports Commission today named 57 multi-talented college football players to the 2021 Watch List for the Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse.
The Paul Hornung Award, now in its 12th season, is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission in the memory of the late football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung. The winner and his family will be honored at the annual Paul Hornung Award dinner at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville in March 2021.

Annual program salutes cohort national organizations for taking meaningful action for youth sports
Louisville, Ky. – July 27, 2021— The Louisville Sports Commission’s SportsFun(d) program was honored today by the Aspen Institute’s Project Play initiative as a 2021 Project Play Champion. This recognition comes as a result of Sports Fun(d)’s grant program that helps expand and create additional, affordable and sustainable recreational sports leagues and activities in the neighborhoods where kids live. Project Play honors a select number of national organizations annually who are taking new, meaningful and specific actions consistent with Project Play’s strategies for youth sports.
