Louisville-based Texas Roadhouse to Sponsor Award for Seventh Year
Louisville, Ky. — July 17, 2017 — The Louisville Sports Commission today named 46 multi-talented college football players to the 2017 Watch List for the Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse.
The Paul Hornung Award, now in its eighth season, is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission, and football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung. The winner and his family will be honored at the annual Paul Hornung Award Banquet presented by KentuckyOne Health, to be held at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville on March 8, 2018. This will be The Paul Hornung Award’s second year as an associate member of the prestigious National College Football Awards Association.

Louisville Regatta Grand Prix Joins Cup of the America’s Championship Series
Louisville, Ky. – July 6, 2017 – World-class powerboat racers will compete on the Ohio River in front of Waterfront Park in downtown Louisville on August 18-20, 2017, in the Inaugural Louisville Regatta Grand Prix.
“Our mission is to bring the sport of powerboat racing back to its former glory,” said International Outboard Grand Prix (IOGP) President, Mike Schriefer. “This means bringing our Grand Prix series to Louisville – one of North America’s most prestigious waterfront parks – for the next three years. Louisville, KY – June 15, 2017 – The Louisville Sports Commission (LSC) announced the appointment of four new members to its board of directors and re-election of two members. The new and re-elected board members will be serving a three-year term of July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2019. The LSC also welcomes a new slate of officers, including David Wombwell, market president of US Bank, who was re-elected as chairman of the board.

New Venues for Pro Road Criterium and Team Time Trial National Events
(June 6, 2017) – The USA Cycling Amateur Road National Championships presented by Papa John’s returns to Louisville for a second consecutive year, June 29-July 2, along with USA Cycling’s Professional Criterium and Team Time Trial National Championships. The three road cycling championship events feature 40 individual and team titles up for grabs for both professional and amateur athletes. The professional championships, held in Greenville, S.C. last spring, make their first appearance in the Derby City.
