Winners Announced for Louisville pure tap® 5K

Louisville, Ky. – September 7, 2019 – With more than 1,000 registered participants, the ninth annual Louisville pure tap® 5K went off this morning under perfect running conditions at race start. Race participants started and finished at the Louisville Water Tower, home of Louisville’s drinking water, and followed a course that ran east and west on River Road.

Logan Barrett of Louisville, Ky., won the men’s division in a time of 15:09.09, ahead of second-place finisher David Grieshaber of Louisville, Ky., who clocked a time of 15:29.87. Flannery Musk of Louisville, Ky. won the women’s division in 17:48.69, beating Alissa Bennett of Memphis, Ind., who finished in 18:26.98.

Live in Lou now Title Sponsor of the Louisville Cross Country Classic

Louisville, Ky. – August 6, 2019 – The Louisville Sports Commission (LSC) announced today that Live in Lou – the talent attraction initiative of Greater Louisville Inc. – has been named title sponsor of the Louisville Cross Country Classic, the largest college cross country meet in the U.S.

LSC owns and operates the prestigious meet that has been held annually at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park since 2001.

Louisville, Ky. — July 25, 2019 — The Louisville Sports Commission today named 44 multi-talented college football players to the 2019 Watch List for the Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse.

The Paul Hornung Award, now in its tenth season, is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission and football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung. The winner and his family will be honored at the annual Paul Hornung Award dinner at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville on March 4, 2020.

Louisville to Host Largest and Most Prestigious Girls’ Travel Basketball Events

Run 4 the Roses and Battle in the Boro to be Held July 5-13 at Kentucky Expo Center

Nearly 1,800 Teams and 1,200 College Coaches Expected

Louisville, Ky. – July 4, 2019 – The Battle in the Boro and Run 4 the Roses – the bellweathers of girls’ travel basketball tournaments – will return to the Kentucky Expo Center (KEC) in Louisville July 5-13.

The Run 4 the Roses, held July 5-8, will be the largest and most prestigious girls’ event in the U.S. to take place under one roof. More than 11,000 players ranging in ages 13 to 17 will compete on 1,100 teams representing 49 states and six Canadian provinces. During the Battle of the Boro, held July 10-13, competition will be among 7,000 players on 700 teams. All games for both events will take place on 78 courts in KEC’s North Wing, South Wing and Freedom Hall. More than 1,100 college coaches/evaluators from all college divisions – including every elite program in the country – are expected to attend the Run 4 Roses; 700 hundred college coaches are expected for the Battle of the Boro.

Louisville Sports Commission Announces New Board Members

Louisville, Ky. – June 17, 2018 – The Louisville Sports Commission (LSC) announced the appointment of six new members to its board of directors and re-election of two members. The new and re-elected board members will be serving a three-year term of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2022. The LSC also welcomes a new slate of officers, including John Willmoth, managing partner of Poplar Ventures, who was elected as chairman of the board.
