Selections Represent Basketball, Football and Media
Louisville, Ky. – May 1, 2024 – Four individuals with strong Kentucky connections who have made outstanding contributions to sports in the Commonwealth and beyond have been selected for the Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame (KSHOF) Class of 2024.
The announcement was made today at a press briefing as part of Champions Day at Churchill Downs by the Louisville Sports Commission, the owners and operators of the KSHOF.

Louisville, Ky. – April 30, 2024 – Marc Kennedy is the winner of the Louisville Sports Commission’s 14th annual Golden Ticket raffle. Candyce Clifft, WDRB News anchor, drew Kennedy’s ticket this morning from the backside of Churchill Downs.
Kennedy purchased one of 350 available raffle tickets for $100 and won the Golden Ticket grand prize, which consists of two tickets to each of the following sporting events:

Award will Honor the Legacy of the Late Dr. Raymond Shea
Louisville, Ky. – Feb. 21, 2024 – The Louisville Sports Commission and UofL Health announced today a partnership to create a national award that recognizes excellence in sports health and athlete performance.
The Dr. Raymond Shea Health & Performance Champion Award will acknowledge individuals for their dedication and commitment to the overall health of college athletes. Dr. Shea was an orthopedic surgeon affiliated with UofL Health – Jewish Hospital and team physician for the University of Louisville football team for more than 30 years. Eligible individuals include physical therapists, athletic trainers, nutritionists, strength coaches and orthopedic specialists, as well as those who provide support for emotional and mental health.

Louisville, Ky. – Feb. 7, 2024 – Laura Rutledge, host of ESPN’s year-round weekday NFL news and information show NFL Live and SEC Network’s SEC Nation, will be the featured speaker at the 14th annual Paul Hornung Award Ceremony to be held on March 8, 2024, at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville.
