Louisville Sports Commission Press Releases
June 27, 2014
Louisville, Ky. – June 27, 2014 – The Louisville Sports Commission today unveiled the medal for its Urban Bourbon Half Marathon. The participant medal features a replica of a bottle of Evan Williams, one of the world’s top selling bourbons.
“We wanted to fully embrace all things bourbon in our half marathon, and the medal is just one of the many experiential features this race will offer. To our knowledge, this is the first time that a half marathon medal has been an exact replica of a bourbon bottle,” said Karl Schmitt, executive director of the Louisville Sports Commission. “We developed a great partnership with Heaven Hill at last year’s race, and it made perfect sense to continue the relationship this year. Especially since our race finishes right in front of the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience.”
