Paul Hornung Award Banquet Rescheduled to February 25, 2015

January 22, 2015 – Louisville, Ky. – The Louisville Sports Commission announced today that it has rescheduled the Paul Hornung Award Banquet presented by KentuckyOne Health to Feb 25, 2015. The banquet will be held at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville.

The banquet had been scheduled for Jan. 27.

University of Washington’s Shaq Thompson, a gifted athlete who played linebacker, running back, safety and special teams this season, was named winner of the fifth annual Paul Hornung Award, presented by Texas Roadhouse. The Louisville Sports Commission and Paul Hornung present the Award to the most versatile player in major college football.

Washington’s Shaq Thompson named 2014 Paul Hornung Award Winner

Louisville, KY – Friday, December 12, 2014 – University of Washington’s Shaq Thompson, a gifted athlete who has played linebacker, running back, safety and special teams this season, was named winner of the fifth annual Paul Hornung Award, presented by Texas Roadhouse. 2014 Paul Hornung Award Finalists

Louisville, KY – Thursday, November 20, 2014 – Four offensive stars who perform double duty on special teams and a two-way “runningbacker” have been named finalists for the Fifth Annual Paul Hornung Award, presented by Texas Roadhouse and given annually to the most versatile player in major college football. The five players represent four power conferences: the Pac 12, Big 12, SEC and Big 10.

Paul Hornung Award Week 12 Honor Roll

Louisville, KY – Monday, November 17, 2014 – Pitt’s Tyler Boyd and Georgia’s Todd Gurley were named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll following the 12th week of the college football season. Boyd tallied 224 all-purpose yards as his Panthers lost 40-35 to North Carolina in an ACC contest. Gurley returned to action after a four-game layoff to lead the Bulldogs to a 34-7 rout of Auburn before suffering a season-ending knee injury late in the game.

Howard Schnellenberger Named to Paul Hornung Award Selection Committee

Louisville, Ky. – November 14, 2014 – Howard Schnellenberger, the very successful, longtime college and NFL coach – and former high school teammate of Paul Hornung – has been named the 16th member of the Paul Hornung Award Selection Committee. The Award is presented by Texas Roadhouse and given annually by the Louisville Sports Commission to the most versatile player in major college football.
