Churchill Downs

Churchill Downs is best known as home to “the greatest two minutes in sports”. The Kentucky Derby is the oldest continuous sporting event in the United States, hosting 132 Derbies. The mile and a quarter race for 3-year-old fillies and colts is held annually on the first Saturday in May. 2004 brought major renovations to the grandstand, including the construction of the luxurious Jockey Club Suites, and this year promises more sweeping changes in the shadow of the Twin Spires.

E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park

E. P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park is a 369-acre oasis on the outskirts of the Louisville metropolitan area. The rolling fields that were once farmland are now the site of some of the finest recreation facilities in Kentucky, including twelve lighted tennis courts, a permanent BMX track and one of the best cross country courses in the United States.

E.P. "Tom" Sawyer park also boasts over 1100 parking spaces, including 800 in the main lot.

Hoops House of Basketball is 90,000 square feet housing 6 Connor "Uniforce" Hardwood Basketball courts. There are 4 High School regulation courts and 2 College regulation courts complete with stadium seating, bleachers, benches, press boxes and more for 3200 athletes, coaches, and fans. Hoops is the premier multi-court facility in the United States.

Kentucky Exposition Center

One of the top 10 largest public facilities of its kind in the United States, the Kentucky Expo Center features large facilities with diverse capabilities. The 400-acre property offers 19,000 parking spaces surrounding the more than one million square feet of indoor space including Freedom Hall, home to the University of Louisville Cardinals, which seats over 19,000 people, Broadbent Arena, and Cardinal Stadium.

Kentucky International Convention Center

With 300,000 square feet of space, the convention center can accommodate a wide variety of sizes and types of events with ease. Out of the 300,000 square feet available, 200,000 square feet is prime exhibit space including 145,000 square feet of contiguous, column-free areas. Accompanying the exhibit halls is a 30,000 square foot ballroom and 52 meeting rooms - all under one roof.

The Kentucky International Convention Center is located in downtown Louisville, within walking distance of most of the 3,000 downtown hotel rooms.

Louisville Extreme Park

The Louisville Extreme Park is one of the nation's best skate parks, with awesome features including a 24 foot full-pipe! The park offers a great balance of street-style, transition style and vert. The public skatepark is owned by Louisville Metro Government and is operated by Metro Parks. The park, completed in April 2002, includes 40,000 square feet of outdoor concrete skating surface and a wooden vert ramp, along with restrooms. The park is open 24 hours a day, year-round.

Louisville Gardens

The Louisville Gardens was built as an armory during 1905 as a memorial to the Louisville Legion that participated in the Mexican War, the Civil War and the Spanish-American War. Louisville Gardens features 57,771 square feet of Administration offices and meeting rooms and a 20,000 square feet arena with permanent seating for over 5,000.

Imagine 64,000 square feet housing nine volleyball courts or five full-size basketball courts - or any combination in between. All courts surfaced with SportShield™ by Sport Court™, the most advanced playing surface available. Stadium Court seating up to 1,000 available. There are two scoreboards, two video cameras and a sound system at each court.

Ohio Valley Volleyball Center

The OVVC houses 6 Sport Court™ volleyball courts in over 34,000 square feet of space, plus a spacious mezzanine for watching games and socializing (features two televisions and arcade games). The OVVC hosts many USAV sanctioned junior events from February to May.

The centerpiece of Waterfront Park is a massive green space, well suited for a variety of programmed activities, such as concerts, large picnics, weddings, or athletic events.
