NBL National Racing Action Set to Take Place at Broadbent Arena between Christmas and New Year's
HILLIARD, OH. (Dec.17, 2009) — The City of Louisville will host more than 2000 BMXers as they converge on the grounds of the Kentucky Expo Center for the annual NBL Christmas Classic and President's Cup. This year's event includes the first NBL Elite race of the season, where the top National and International stars will be competing for cash and points towards the year-end Elite title.
The Louisville Sports Commission and Derby City BMX will provide local support for the NBL races.
The three-day long Christmas week event will take place at Broadbent Arena December 27-29, 2009. The event kicks off on December 27th with the 25th Annual President's Cup, a state-vs.-state competition, where Florida will defend its National title against Ohio, the Carolinas, Georgia and other top states. This event is open to all Rookie, Novice, Expert, Girl, Cruiser, and Pro NBL riders who have earned a state ranking of one to fifteen within their state. The President's Cup is a tradition-rich experience with competitors from all states cheering hard to see their riders come out on top.
The showcase event, the NBL Christmas Classic, takes the stage on Monday and Tuesday, December 28-29, featuring full-blown National Amateur racing and Elite racing for the top Pro riders. In addition to bar-banging action on the indoor track, bike shops, sponsors and other vendors will be set up in the adjacent pavilion for all your BMX needs. Entry to both events is free to the public.
